SPF, which stands for Sender Policy Framework, is an email protection system, which is designed to confirm whether an e-mail message is sent by a licensed server. Using SPF protection for a domain will prevent the counterfeiting of emails made with the domain. In simple words: activating this function for a domain name makes a specific record in the Domain Name System (DNS) that contains the IP of the servers that are allowed to send emails from mailboxes using the domain. The moment this record propagates globally, it exists on all of the DNS servers that direct the Internet traffic. Whenever a new email message is sent, the first DNS server it uses tests if it comes from an authorized server. If it does, it's sent to the destination address, yet if it does not come from a server part of the SPF record for the domain, it is rejected. Thus nobody will be able to mask an e-mail address and make it appear as if you are e-mailing spam messages. This approach is also known as email spoofing.

SPF Protection in Cloud Hosting

SPF protection can be activated for any domain name hosted in a cloud hosting account on our cloud hosting platform with no more than a few mouse-clicks. The function can be found in the Emails section of our amazing Hepsia Control Panel and what is needed to activate it is to pick one of your domains from a drop-down list and then type in the hostnames along with the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the e-mail servers that will be authorized to send emails from your email addresses. The SPF protection function is featured with all of the Linux semi-dedicated servers, so when you host your domains in an account on our cloud website hosting platform, you're able to use this service easily for all your domain names. The Hepsia Control Panel, which is included with the semi-dedicated accounts, offers a quite easy to use interface, which means that you do not need to be proficient in the use of computers in order to secure your emails. You'll only have to type the hostname and the IP address of each mail server that you would like to be allowed to send emails from your addresses and shortly after that the new record will be active for the domain name that you have chosen.
