Transferring a domain from one registrar company to another generally entails the use of a special authorization code, which different registrar companies refer to as an EPP key, a domain password or an Auth code. This code can be used as a protection mechanism against unsolicited transfers with all gTLD and with most ccTLD extensions. It can be obtained only by the owner of the particular domain and is provided by the present domain registrar company. It must be given to the new domain registrar company because the transfer cannot be started without it. The code is case-sensitive and usually includes digits and special characters, so as to prevent unauthorized people from cracking it. Some domain registrars even change the codes of domain names registered through them periodically for even greater security.

EPP Transfer Protection in Cloud Hosting

If you have a cloud hosting, you’ve registered a domain through our company and you would like to transfer it away from us, you can get its EPP transfer code with no more than a couple of clicks of the mouse. When you sign in to your Hepsia Control Panel and navigate to the Registered Domains section, you’ll see all the domain names that you’ve registered through us listed alphabetically. On the right-hand side of each domain, you’ll see a small EPP icon for all extensions that require an EPP code in order to be transferred between companies. Clicking the icon will email the EPP code to the domain name owner’s email straight away. In the exact same section you can also find and eventually modify the email, if the one there is no longer valid.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with our company and you’ve registered a domain name that you wish to transfer, you can get the EPP transfer code extremely easy through the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will manage both your account and your domains. If you visit the Registered Domains section, you’ll see an EPP icon next to your domain names, provided that their extensions support transfers between domain name registrars with such a code. All codes are emailed automatically by our system to the registrant’s email address to make sure that only the domain owner can see this information. In case the current email address is not valid any longer, you can update it with a few clicks of the mouse without having to leave this section of the Control Panel. The change is instantaneous, so you will be able to request the EPP code for the specific domain right away.
