The dot SE country-specific top-level extension was launched in 1986 and delegated to Sweden. During the first years after its launch, the registration procedure was quite restrictive, so a very small number of domain names were bought. Persons could secure solely one domain under .PP.SE (“pp” stands for “private person”). Local presence was a prerequisite, i.e. only Swedish persons, firms and organizations could grab a dot SE domain.
