克里斯•唐森德（Chris Townsend）是《进阶背包客》（Advanced Backpacker）一书的作者,同时与别人合著了《户外百科全书》（Encyclopedia of Outdoor）和《野外技巧》(Wilderness Skills)。他在全世界各地带领人们进行户外探险和滑雪旅行,包括挪威、瑞典、尼泊尔等地。他曾徒步走完太平洋山脊路线（Pacific Crest Trail）和北美大陆分水岭路线（Continental Divide Trail）全程,是最值得信赖的户外旅行作者。

译者简介

严冬冬,自由登山者、自由翻译。

2001年考入清华大学,在校期间加入清华大学登山队,并曾任登山队队长。2005年毕业后仍以技术指导身份和清华登山队一起攀登。2008年5月8日,北京奥运圣火成功登顶珠峰,严冬冬作为登山队后援队员随队登顶,成为首位成功登顶珠峰的清华学子,第六届中国户外年度金犀牛奖获得者。

他曾经参与翻译过的书籍有《登山手册》、《少有人走的路Ⅲ：心灵地图》、《危险的脚步》,并为《三杯茶》的中文简体版做了校译工作。

2012年7月9日,严冬冬在天山下撤过程中不幸遇难。
