菲利普•佩迪特（Philip Pettit） 著名哲学家、政治学家,当代共和主义最有影响的代表人物之一。1945年生于爱尔兰,曾长期任教于澳大利亚国立大学社会科学研究院,拥有爱尔兰与澳大利亚双重国籍。现任教于美国普林斯顿大学,讲授政治理论与哲学,任劳伦斯•洛克菲勒大学政治学与人类价值讲席教授（Laurance S. Rockefeller University Professor of Politics and Human Values）。

著有：《共和主义》(Republicanism ,1997),《一种自由理论》(A Theory of Freedom , 2001),《规则、理性与规范》(Rules, Reasons and Norms , 2002),《成于言》(Made with Words, 2008 )等。
