William Dunham 世界知名的数学史专家,现为美国穆伦堡学院教授。他笔耕不辍,著述颇丰,较有影响的著作还有Journey Through Genius: The Great Theorems of Mathematics和The Calculus Gallery: Masterpieces from Newton to Lebesgue（《微积分的历程：从牛顿到勒贝格》,中文版已由人民邮电出版社出版）。Dunham教授分别于1992年、1997年、2006年获得美国数学协会颁发的George Polya奖、Trevor Evans 奖和Lester R. Ford奖。
