玛格丽特·阿特伍德（Margare Atwood,1939—）出生于加拿大渥太华,早年在安大略北部和魁北克度过,1962年获哈佛大学文科硕士学位,曾任加拿大作家协会主席。她是加拿大最著名的小说家和诗人,其作品迄今已在全球35个国家出版。她曾推出30多部作品,其中包括小说、诗歌与批评散文。她的小说《女仆的故事》《猫眼》与《别名格雷斯》曾获得加拿大的吉勒尔奖与意大利的雷米欧.蒙德罗奖；《盲刺客》曾获2000年英国布克小说奖。
