It's 1775, and trouble is brewing in the American colonies. British troops do their best to keep the colonists loyal to the King, but rebellionis in the air, and many think it will lead to war. Eleven-year-old Tim Meeker can't figure out which side is right, and the conflict is tearing his family apart. His brother, Sam, has run off to fight the British. Tim's parents fear the repercussions of war, and cannot support any sort of rebellion. As Tim struggles to define his own beliefs, against the backdrop of war, he finds what it takes to become a man.
