阿瑟·克拉克（1917-2008）

英国科幻作家,与阿西莫夫、海因莱因并称为现代科幻“三巨头”。其代表作包括《童年的终结》《2001：太空漫游》《与拉玛相会》（获雨果奖、星云奖）及《天堂的喷泉》（获雨果奖、星云奖）等科幻史上的杰作。

与另两位“巨头”相比,克拉克的作品绝大多数属于“硬科幻”,视野宏大,具有坚实的科学基础,同时饱含人文关怀,充满对人类文明终极意义的探索。

克拉克早在1945年即提出利用同步卫星实现全球通信的设想。由于他的这一伟大贡献,国际天文学联合会将赤道上空的同步卫星轨道命名为“克拉克轨道”。
